This St. John of God Kids Sweatshirt is made of ultra-soft, preshrunk fleece that feels wonderful against the skin. The garment is 50% cotton 50% polyester with reduced lint buildup. This makes an excellent combination for printing. The front has a kangaroo pocket big enough for both hands. The neck is reinforced with twill taping.
St. John of God grew up in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal and worked as a shepherd until the age of 20. He then enlisted in the Spanish army and fought in Italy on behalf of Spain during the Italian Wars that involved France and the Holy Roman Empire. In 1538, he went to Granada, Spain to found a hospital for the poor and sick. St. John of God was canonized as Saint John of God by Pope Clement XI on March 12, 1690.
