Mark the Evangelist (Saint Mark) is one of the four Evangelists—the four primary authors of the canonical gospels of Jesus' life and ministry. He is traditionally believed to have been a companion of Saint Peter, whom he wrote his Gospel in Rome under Peter's direction around AD 60–62.
